Imagine all the things you love about camping: nature, campfires, minimal environmental impact, peace and quiet, combined with the coziness of down duvets and memory foam mattresses. At Cloud 9 we've endeavoured to think of everything you might need for a camping trip, and have it ready when you arrive. From firewood and roasting sticks for the fire pit, which the "fire valet" will prep for you, to filtered drinking water; towels for the hot tub; flashlights; there are even games and books for rainy nights. We are all about getting hygge!
There is Wifi available onsite, but we've made the conscious decision to put it far enough away to allow you to disconnect from the hectic pace of civilization.
In the morning enjoy coffee or tea on your private deck as you listen to the birds and the wind in the trees. There is an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, cooler, and tables, should you wish to prepare your own meals, as well as our stunning new greenhouse for dining or relaxing.
The Cabins
We have two cabins: the Cedar, which has two twin beds, and the Hemlock, which has a queen size bed in the loft and a queen sofa bed on the main floor, allowing up to 4 guests.
The A-frame, single-story Cedar Cabin features a large window that opens to bring the outdoors in, and enjoy the spectacular view. It is seasonal, open from April through October. The 2-story Hemlock Cabin is open all year round, and is a cozy retreat, perfect for curling up with a book and a glass of wine during the rainy season.

The cabins and washroom facilities are off-grid (no electricity); the toilets are composting; water for sinks and shower are rainwater capture; grey water is filtered and re-used for ornamental plant watering.

March 16, 2020 our lives, like yours, were going along the same as usual, by March 30th we were wondering what else we could do to fill our time and find some enjoyment. We knew how much we love our 12 acres in beautiful Shirley and enjoy sharing it with friends and family. How fun, we thought, would it be to share it with people in need of an escape from the city and isolation of lockdown? So Cloud 9 was born and we reinvented ourselves as wilderness retreat hosts, opening the Cedar Cabin to glampers that August. In 2021 we added the Hemlock Cabin, which has allowed us to welcome visitors all year-round. This year we have added the Alder Tent, a perfect option for those looking for ultra-budget accommodations, with our usual clamping flair.
We have loved every minute of it so far, and have discovered that glampers are an amazing group of people! We invite you to come out and discover for yourself how special our area is, and how much fun glamping can be.
